Lizette Alvarez (born October 30, 1964 Miami) is an American journalist, and Miami Bureau Chief, for The New York Times.

She won the 1995 Goldsmith Prize for Investigative Reporting, with Lisa Getter. She won a 1993 Pulitzer Prize for Public Service with The Miami Herald. She won a 1996 George Polk Award with The New York Times.
