Jamie Patricof is a movie and television producer.

Early life

Born to Jewish parents, Jamie Patricof is the son of Alan Patricof, the founder of Apax Partners (one of the largest private equity firms in the world) and Susan Hatkoff Patricof.

Career

Patricof began his career working at Rap Sheet Magazine and Def Jam Records in marketing and promotions. He also produced a live stand-up comedy show in New York City that featured Dave Chappelle, Mike Epps, Colin Quinn, and Dean Edwards.

He was the producer of both Point&Shoot, a feature film that premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, and the film Half Nelson which premiered at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival and was released nationwide August 11, 2006. Half Nelson was being distributed by THINKfilm and received favorable reviews from Variety, New York Times, The Hollywood Reporter and Entertainment Weekly.

Patricof served as the executive producer of the VH1 special Run Dmc And Jam Master Jay: The Last Interview, a tribute to the seminal hip-hop group; the creator and executive producer of the VH1 show Players, which focused on the daily lives of hip hop artists set against the backdrop of their rise to fame; and as creator/executive producer of The Life, a 32-episode documentary series on ESPN. This behind-the-scenes look at athletes"? lives off the field was nominated for an Emmy.

Personal life

Jamie is married to former model Kelly Sawyer, who was born in London but raised in Vancouver, Canada. They have two children, Riley and Sawyer.
