Jacob Artist Biography

Jacob Artist (born October 17, 1992) is an American artist, actor, singer, and dancer. He joined the cast of the Fox television series Glee in the fourth season as Jake Puckerman, half-brother of regular character Noah "Puck" Puckerman. Currently, he is starring in the role of Brandon Fletcher in the ABC thriller Quantico.

Early life

Jacob was born to Darrell and Judith Artist in Williamsville, New York. His father is African American, while his mother is of Polish descent. He has a younger sister named Jenna. He took voice lessons through the Community Music School in Buffalo.

Artist graduated from Williamsville South High School a semester early, and was accepted into Juilliard for dance. However, he turned Juilliard down to pursue his acting career.

Career

After graduation from Williamsville South at the age of 17 in 2010, Artist moved to Los Angeles, where he appeared in the TV movie Blue Lagoon: The Awakening and later Bucket & Skinner's Epic Adventures in 2011. He auditioned for Glee in mid-July and was cast in 2012. At the show's conclusion in 2015, he had been featured in 36 episodes. In 2015, Artist joined the thriller series Quantico, playing the role of Brandon Fletcher, a FBI recruit at the training academy.
