Grown Ups 2 is an upcoming 2013 American buddy comedy film directed by Dennis Dugan, and produced by Adam Sandler. The film is the sequel to Grown Ups, It stars with an ensemble cast including Sandler, Kevin James, Taylor Lautner, David Spade, Chris Rock, Steve Buscemi, Jackie Sandler, Aly Michalka, Maria Bello, Maya Rudolph, Andy Samberg, Milo Ventimiglia, Patrick Schwarzenegger and Steve Austin. Rob Schneider will not be reprising his role from the first film due to scheduling conflicts. The film also welcomes new funny-man star Tre Anthony Smith as Chris Rock's son in the film, whom are both said to be in production with a new movie. The film is produced by Sandler's production company Happy Madison and distributed by Columbia Pictures.

Production

Filming of Grown Ups 2 began on June 2, 2012, in Massachusetts, United States and ended on August 15, 2012. Columbia Pictures and Happy Madison Productions will distribute the film. The film was written by Fred Wolf and Tim Herlihy and directed by Dennis Dugan, Sandler's longtime collaborator. The film has been confirmed for a July 12, 2013 release date in the US. It will be released on 16 August 2013 in the UK.

It will mark the first sequel to star Adam Sandler, though he made a cameo appearance in Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo. The movie will also have a role played by WWE hall of famer "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. Stand-up comedian Chris Hardwick confirmed a cameo as an ice cream vendor via his Facebook page. Additionally, the film will feature a cameo appearance by sportscaster Michael Kay and include Shaquille O'Neal as a cop. On July 10, 2012, it was announced Arnold Schwarzenegger's son, Patrick, was set to appear also as one of the frat brothers. Oliver Cooper was offered a role as one of the fraternity brothers but had to back out due to scheduling conflicts
