Crystal Jeanell Johnson is a singer, songwriter, producer, and actress originally from Brooklyn, New York. Her career began at age 7, when she recorded with Pink Floyd and the Institutional Children's Choir, and has included a variety of stage productions and musical collaborations. She has worked with an array of well-known artists, including Usher Raymond, Angie Stone, Anthony Hamilton, Mobb Deep, Heavy D, and Dr. Dre.

Her vocal credits include several albums that charted in the United States, including "Got Me Waiting" from the Heavy D album Nuttin' But Love, which topped the Billboard US Rap chart and reached #20 on the Billboard Hot 100, "Temperature's Rising" from Mobb Deep's The Infamous, which reached #3 on the Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart, and "Lovin' You" on the soundtrack for the film Who's the Man?. She was also an arranger and lyricist for the latter album, which reached #8 on the US Rap charts in 1995.

Her self-produced album, released in 2011, is titled The Day Before Heaven.
