Cecilia Lavelli Biography

Cecilia Lavelli (Born 2 June 1906 in Turin - died 14 July 1998 in Turin) she was an Italian painter and an art model.

She painted landscapes and still lifes, as well as being a model who was appreciated by painters and especially by sculptors who were inspired by her for various monuments built in Turin. Her face was reproduced by the sculptor Edoardo Rubino for the gigantic Winged Victory of the "Victory Beacon Light" placed on top of the "Colle della Maddalena"? hill in Turin. She worked not only for the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts, but also for many artists among which Cesare Ferro, Felice Casorati, Daphe Maugham Casorati.

Cecilia Lavelli was also the mother of the Turinese artist and sculptor Piero Gilardi.
