Catriona Gray Biography

Catriona Elisa Gray (born January 6, 1994) is a Filipino TV Host, singer, model and beauty pageant titleholder who won Miss World Philippines 2016. She represented the Philippines at the Miss World 2016 pageant.

Personal life

Gray was born in Cairns to an Australian father, Ian Gray, and a Filipino mother, Normita Ragas Magnayon, from Oas, Albay. As an only child Gray spent most of her time participating in extra curriculars such as Art, Drama, Math and Science Extension classes along with Karate, Dance and Singing lessons which led her to having her love of arts from a young age. Catriona also has a Certificate II in Outdoor Recreation and also starred in local Musical productions such as Miss Saigon along with State Eisteddfods for voice.

Catriona was the lead singer of her school's jazz band along with sport captain. After finishing high school studies in Australia, she made the decision to move to Manila, Philippines. Within a few months of arriving in Manila, and still just 18, she became recognised as one of the top commercial models in the Philippines.

Gray has been in a long-term relationship with German-Filipino model Clint Bondad.

She has a Masters Certificate in Music Theory from the Berklee College of Music in Boston. She also sings, plays the guitar and has a black belt in Choi Kwang Do.

Despite of her name (Caitriona), who was of Irish origin, she has an Irish ancestor, from Port, County Donegal, Ireland.

Pageantry

Miss World Philippines 2016

On October 2 2016, Gray was crowned Miss World Philippines 2016 and competed at Miss World 2016 pageant to be held in the United States. She also won Best in Swimsuit, Best in Evening Gown, Best in Fashion Runway and Best in Talent Awards.

Miss World 2016

Gray represented the Philippines at the Miss World 2016 where she placed in the Top 5. She also won the Multimedia Award, and placed 2nd for Talent, and her Beauty with a Purpose project was selected in the Top 5.
