Cara DeLizia

Cara DeLizia Biography

Cara Elizabeth DeLizia (born April 10, 1984) is an American television actress most known for her portrayal as Fiona "Fi" Phillips alongside Mackenzie Phillips in the Disney Original Series So Weird.

Career

Early career

She got her start in acting at the age of 5 doing theater productions. She was later discovered and starred regularly in the WB's Nick Freno: Licensed Teacher. Later she had guest spots on Mad About You, 7th Heaven, The West Wing (in "The Stackhouse Filibuster"), Strong Medicine, and ER. She has also starred in several TV movies and had minor roles in several motion pictures such as Sleepless in Seattle and Avalon. She also starred in some Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen Productions, such as You're Invited to Mary-Kate and Ashley's Sleepover Party, singing a song called "Gimme Pizza!" and the popular line "whipped cream pouring like waterfalls!" At this stage in her career, DeLizia was known for her high-pitched voice and pixie haircut.

So Weird

It was her role on So Weird that was her breakout. She starred as Fiona "Fi" Phillips, an adolescent girl obsessed with the paranormal. She traveled around the country on a tour bus with her rockstar mother (Phillips). At various stops along the way Fi would encounter paranormal activity ranging from aliens, to ghosts, to Bigfoot. Fi's interest was driven to find out what had caused her father's death when she was a child. Her investigations culminated in the show's Season 2 finale. DeLizia left the show in the Season 3 premiere and was replaced by a young Canadian Alexz Johnson. To that point, the show had been "darker" for a Disney show in the vein of The X-Files. However, when DeLizia departed, the show took on a lighter tone for the remainder of its run.

Later work

Her other major role was as Marcy Kendall on the FOX drama Boston Public where she played the assistant to Chi McBride's Principal Harper.

She voiced school bad boy, "Z" for three episodes of the Nickelodeon cartoon series All Grown Up!.

DeLizia became engaged to Robert Chambers in 2001. The couple married in 2004 and lived in Burbank, California. In 2006, the couple divorced.

In December 2009, she married Nick Rich.
