Candice Galek (born December 25, 1987 in South Florida) is an American model and entrepreneur who founded Bikini Luxe swimwear in 2013.

Career

Galek has led the company in aggressive use of online shopping sites, as well as an affiliate program that pays bloggers for referrals and sales.

LinkedIn controversy

In March 2016, Galek posted a photo of a Miss Universe in a bikini from her online store on her LinkedIn page and asked, "Is this photo appropriate for LinkedIn?"? While the swimsuit modeling pics seemed fine on Instagram, they resulted in heated debates on LinkedIn. The post went viral, and what ensued was hundreds of comments, resulting in Galek"?s post being removed by LinkedIn, without her consent or knowledge.

Galek went to the company to stand up for her rights, and on March 25, 2016, Galek reported that her posts that had been deleted by LinkedIn have been restored. She has received a message from LinkedIn noting the difficulty the platform faces in protecting the sensibilities of all of its users, in the U.S. and also internationally, where sensitivities can differ, while protecting the publishing rights of its legitimate members.

Galek reports as a result of the post, business at Bikini Luxe was up significantly, and her contact base has grown by several thousand.
