Camilla Dallerup

Camilla Dallerup Biography

Camilla Dallerup (born 1974 in Aalborg), is a British based Danish ballroom dancer.

Dallerup has been dancing from the young age of two, when her mother took her to her first class in Aalborg. Soon, Camilla won the Danish Junior Championships at the age of 12. She moved to England where she competed with Brendan Cole, who also became her boyfriend. In 2003 Dallerup and Cole were placed 3rd for Latin American at the UK Closed Championships.

She then appeared on all four series of Strictly Come Dancing and her nine year relationship break up with her fiancé and dance partner Cole was publicised, due to his affair with BBC news reader Natasha Kaplinsky.

Following the first series of Strictly Come Dancing Camilla trained Travis Oliver and choreographed his rumba for the movie Everything To Dance For, in which Brendan also starred.

Dallerup is now dancing with fellow "Strictly Come Dancing" professional, Ian Waite. They were placed 2nd for Latin American at the 2005 UK Closed Championships.

During her time on "Strictly Come Dancing" she has partnered:

  • Series1 - David Dickinson, out in the third week
  • Series2 - Roger Black, out in the sixth week
  • Series3 - James Martin, with whom she made it to the semi-final. Persistent rumours of a romance probably assisted their high finish
  • Series4 - Ray Fearon, out in the sixth week
