Beck appeared in Arrested Development, and will be a featured player on season 39 of Saturday Night Live.

Life and career

Bennett was born in Wilmette, Illinois, to Andy and Sarah Bennett. He graduated from New Trier High School in 2003 where he played Jean Valjean in his school's production of Les Miserables. Beck attended the University of Southern California in the B.F.A. Acting program. In 2003, he joined the improv/sketch group Commedus Interruptus along with Kyle Mooney and Nick Rutherford. In 2007, after graduation, Mooney, Rutherford, and Bennett joined with editor/director Dave McCary to form the sketch group "Good Neighbor." Mooney and McCary are joining Bennett on SNL.

Praise

Good Neighbor was praised by comedian Louis C.K. during a Reddit Q&A in which C.K. said he didn't know many "up and comers" but told fans to "search on YouTube for Good Neighbor." Also, Steven Spielberg sent Mooney, Bennett, Rutherford, and McCary a personal "acknowledgement" after being impressed with the Hook parody: Unbelievable Dinner. He complimented the sketch and encouraged the group to continue making funny movies.

Film

Bennett recently completed work on the indie film Intramural. He also acted in Kill Me Now, a film starring multiple internet sketch-comedy groups and Beside Still Waters by writer/director Chris Lowell.

Other projects

According to Splitsider: "Good Neighbor had recently produced a pilot for Comedy Central with Adam McKay's Gary Sanchez production company, but it seems clear that it won't go to series as these three move to NYC to start work on SNL instead." Beck Bennett co-created the web series "Theatre of Life" where he and Rutherford film unsuspecting pedestrians and voice-over their thoughts and dialogue. Bennett also created Fresh Perspectives, a kids political talk show, which helped him land his AT&T commercials interviewing kids. Bennett has appeared on Last Man Standing, and voiced a character for FOX ADHD's Axe Cop.
