Area 51 is a science-fiction film picture written and directed by Oren Peli, the director of Paranormal Activity (2007) and starring Benjamin Rovner, Reid Warner and Darrin Bragg.

Plot

Three friends travel to the infamous Area 51 in order to learn its terrifying secrets.

Production

Production for the film began in the fall of 2009. According to Bloody Disgusting in April 2011 Paramount Pictures hired director/actor Chris Denham to do some rewrites on Area 51. Also Oren Peli will go back behind cameras to shoot some additional footage once filming for Lords of Salem is completed and before Paranormal Activity 4 begins filming.
