The 58th annual WGA Awards will now include outstanding achievement in writing for a dramatic series, a comedy series and new series, TV Week reported Friday.
"Unlike any other form of writing, the stories of episodic television require the blended imagination, talent, and tenacity of a staff of writers," WGA West President Daniel Petrie Jr. said.
"Not only do they have to attain the high creative level of individual writers, they have to do it week after week, often under enormous time pressures."
The 58th annual WGA Awards will be presented Feb. 4, 2006, at The Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles and the Waldorf-Astoria in New York.
