Woman charged with castration after party

Lillington, N.C., police are investigating a Christmas party that reportedly ended when a woman tried to yank off a man's genitals with her hands.

Rebecca Arnold, 34, was charged with malicious castration and assault-inflicting serious bodily injury and is free on bail, the Raleigh (N.C.) News & Observer said. She also was charged with malicious conduct by a prisoner and injury to personal property for allegedly spitting on the arresting officer.

Police said Arnold, Kevin Russ and another person apparently began fighting during a Christmas party. During the fight, Arnold allegedly grabbed Russ' genitals.

When police arrived at the house, they found Russ, 38, bloodied and "in pretty bad shape," Lillington Police Chief Frank Powers said.

A urologist at University of North Carolina Hospitals said it was unlikely Arnold could have removed Russ' testicles with only her hands because they are attached deep in the pelvis. More likely, the urologist said, the skin around the genitals was torn, which would cause bleeding.
