Singer Mark Feehily of Britain's popular boy band Westlife told Britain's Sun Friday he is gay and "very proud of who I am."

Feehily, 25, said he was already out to his family and fellow bandmates.
"I'm not asking for any sympathy, or to be a role model to anyone else," he said. "I'm not worried about how people react because I'm happy being who I am."
Feehily told the newspaper he was in a relationship with another boy band member, Kevin McDaid from V.
"I'm happy, and ... I've found someone who is a real companion," he said.
