"Good Morning, America" weatherman Tony Perkins is leaving the ABC-TV show after six years, it was reported Thursday.

Perkins has been commuting to New York from Washington since replacing Spencer Christian in 1999, the New York Post said.
Because his family lives in Washington, Perkins has decided to return to WTTG-TV, the Fox station where he worked prior to joining "GMA," the Post said.
Perkins' final appearance on "Good Morning America" will be Dec. 2.
