GOP Delegate L. Scott Lingamfelter is the sponsor of a bill that would rename the Route 234 Bypass between Routes 1 and 66, which runs from Manassas to Dumfries past a Civil War battlefield, in honor of the 40th president of the United States, the Washington Times reported.
"He loved Virginia. He loved Civil War battlefields and to ride horses and the Manassas-Middleburg region is one he found very beautiful. It's a natural in my mind," said Lingamfelter.
