VH1 says it has renewed its three-year contract with the U.S. Broadcast Film Critics Association and will air the Critics' Choice Movie Awards through 2013.

The cable network has televised the event for the past three years. The 16th annual Critics' Choice Movie Awards will be televised live Jan. 14 from the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles and will be the awards show's first international telecast, VH1 said.

Jesse Ignjatovic has joined the program as executive producer. Ignjatovic recently produced the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards, which drew 11.4 million viewers.

"Our partnership with the BFCA has been a truly successful collaboration. The telecasts have consistently brought VH1 viewers closer to the movies they've talked about all year while giving them the first look at the movies and A-list talent that go on to dominate the awards season," VH1 President Tom Calderone said in a statement Tuesday.

"The BFCA is thrilled about extending our partnership with VH1, which has been instrumental in the explosive growth of the Critics' Choice Movie Awards into the must-attend kickoff event of the Hollywood awards season," NFCA President Joey Berlin said.
