A Los Angeles woman who used in vitro fertilization to have triplets three years ago has given birth to quadruplets without fertility treatment.

Angela Magdaleno, 40, gave birth to the two boys and two girls on July 6 and was discharged from the hospital three days later, KNBC-TV, Los Angeles, reported.
Dr. Kathryn Shaw delivered the babies by Caesarean section at White Medical Center, and said all four infants weighed between 3.5 and 4 pounds, which she said is unusual in multiple births.
The children were born about eight weeks premature, but were otherwise healthy, and likely would be able to go home within three weeks, the report said.
Shaw said the chances of delivering quadruplets without fertility treatment are about one in 80,000.
The new arrivals bring to nine the number of children Magdaleno has -- apart from the 3-year-old triplets, she also has two teenage daughters.
