The man accused of forging Cameron Diaz's signature on a release for topless photos he took of her, says someone else must have done it.

Photograher John Rutter, 42, testified in his Los Angeles trial Thursday he thought the signature was legitimate when he tried to sell the photos back to Diaz right before the 2003 opening of "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle," the Los Angeles Times reported.
"I assumed it was real, that's all I can say," Rutter said.
However, the testimony of expert witnesses called by the prosecution convinced him the signature was forged, he said.
Diaz testified at the start of the trial that she posed topless for Rutter in 1992 in the hope it would advance her career. Her lawyer said Rutter called him years later threatening to release the photos for publication if he did not receive $3 million in 48 hours.
A blackmail charge against Rutter was dropped, but he is being tried for forgery, grand theft and perjury.
