Film actor Tom Cruise has a real-life history of rescuing those in need and did so again when he stopped to help the victims of a Los Angeles freeway crash.

Cruise and fiancee Katie Holmes were on their way home from the airport Saturday night from a trip to Salt Lake City when they spotted motorists in distress, E! Online reported.
They pulled off the road to see if the driver Jon Henningsen and his wife were seriously injured and waited until the fire and police departments arrived.
Cruise has a list of rescues, E! said, including saving a woman from muggers in London in 1998; helping a hit-and-run victim in 1996 and then paying her $7,000 emergency room bill; rescuing French paper tycoon Jacques Lejeune and his family who were in a life raft after their boat caught fire, and pulling two boys to safety when they were in danger of being crushed at the "Mission: Impossible" London premiere.
