Dorchester County sheriff's deputies said the car was left overnight Monday at Mr. Sign in Summerville so it could be detailed with law enforcement markings and shop manager Jamie Lucarelli arrived at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday to find the tires had been stolen and the car was on cinder blocks, The (Charleston, S.C.) Post and Courier, Charleston reported Wednesday.
"They jacked it up, grabbed the wheels and took off," Lucarelli said. "They were brave."
Deputies said the new radial tires were valued at $1,600 total.
"It just shows nobody is immune," Sheriff's Maj. John Garrison said. "If they'll take it from us, they'll take it from anybody."
