The Voice determined eight "Battles: Round Two" survivors during Monday night's broadcast of the NBC reality singing competition's sixth season.
The Voice coaches Shakira, Usher, Adam Levine, and Blake Shelton each continued whittling down their sixth-season teams from eight to five artists with the beginning of the season's "Battles: Round Two" phase of the competition.
Audra McLauglin, T.J. Wilkins, Jake Worthington, Christina Grimmie, Patrick Thomson, and Delvin Choice advanced to The Voice's "Playoff Rounds" after winning their second "battle" round face-off against fellow contestants Megan Ruger, Cierra Mickens, Tess Boyer, Sam Behymer, Josh Murley, and Josh Kaufman.
The artists squared off in the new "Battles: Round Two" after The Voice coaches each selected two members of his or her individual singing team to perform a duet performance that would end with the coach eliminating one of the singers from the competition.
However, similar to previous seasons, each coach is allowed one more "steal" in which one losing face-off contestant can be added to a different coach's original team of "battle" round winners and his/her two previously-stolen artists.
During Monday night's broadcast, two contestants were stolen: Tess and Josh. Tess started out on Blake's team but was stolen by Shakira. Josh was initially on Adam's team but was stolen by Usher.
Blake paired up Audra and Megan and required them to sing "The Climb" by Miley Cyrus. Blake also partnered Jake with Tess and had them perform "Have a Little Faith in Me" by John Hiatt.
Adam paired Christina with Sam, requiring them to sing "Counting Stars" by OneRepublic. Adam also partnered Delvin with Josh and asked them to sing "Sign, Sealed, Delivered I'm Yours" by Stevie Wonder.
Usher paired up Cierra and T.J. The pair sang "Get Here" by Oleta Adams for their "battle" face-off.
Shakira partnered Josh with Patrick, requiring them to perform "Run to You" by Bryan Adams.
Following "Battles: Round Two," The Voice's "Playoff Rounds" will further narrow down each coach's team to three members in preparation for the live shows, which will begin airing on April 21 and continue through until the show's May 20 finale. The "Instant Save" format will also return during the live shows.
