'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno' books Michelle Obama as guest

U.S. first lady Michelle Obama has been booked to appear on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," NBC said Thursday.

Obama is to be a guest on the Jan. 31 episode of the late-night chat show.

This will be her first appearance on the show as the first lady.
