Two lambs born with complications on a Welsh farm have an unlikely guardian -- the family's Rottweiler dog.

Eleven-month-old Molly the Rottweiler has adopted two lambs as her own after they were born 11 months ago, nearly dying shortly after their birth. Her owner, Maria Foster of Forden, near Welshpool in Powys, said the dog has bonded with the lambs so closely that they cannot be returned to their mother. Molly won't even let the farm's sheepdog get close to the lambs, the BBC reported Saturday.
Rottweiler dogs have a fearsome reputation as vicious attack dogs, but one Kennel Club spokesman told the BBC that the dogs learn aggressive behavior from humans.
"It is quite comical to see," Foster admitted of the unlikely guardianship. She recounted an incident in which the family's cat approached the lambs while they were sleeping and was quickly pushed away by Molly.
