Classic rockers the Romantics filed suit in Detroit against the makers of the video game "Guitar Hero," which includes a copycat version of one of their songs.

The band alleges in the U.S. District Court suit that video game manufacturer Activision infringed the band's rights by including a sound-alike version of "What I Like About You" on "Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s," which was released in July for Sony PlayStation consoles, the Detroit Free Press reported Thursday.
The band's suit does not allege copyright infringement, rather it claims the game infringed the group's right to its own image and likeness by recording a cover version that is extremely close to the original recorded by the Romantics.
"It's a very good imitation, and that's our objection," said William Horton, an attorney for the rock group. "Even the guys in the band said, 'Wow, that's not us, but it sure sounds like us.'"
