'The Purge' tops box office, 'The Internship' stumbles

The sci-fi thriller "The Purge," made for about $3 million, grossed an estimated $36.3 million in its opening weekend to finish No. 1 at the U.S. box office.
The more heavily promoted Vince Vaughn-Owen Wilson comedy, "The Internship," opened in fourth place, grossing just $18.1 million, Box Office Mojo said.
"Fast & Furious 6," which was No. 1 in its first two weeks in release, took in $19.7 million to run its overall domestic take to $202.9 million and finish second -- ahead of the crime-thriller "Now You See Me," which grossed $19.5 million in its second weekend in theaters.
The animated "Epic," was No. 5 with $12.1 million and a three-week total of $84.1 million.
"Iron Man 3" has taken in a estimated $394.3 million in six weeks in U.S. release.
