Michael chose Ashley over his runner-up and the clear crowd favorite, Jasmyn Alston, a 29-year-old teacher from Greensboro, NC, who also put her heart on the line for love.

The broadcast of ABC's new reality dating series from The Bachelor creator Mike Fleiss featured 10 women -- selected by a panel of matchmakers -- attempting to win the heart of a man whose identity was initially concealed from them by participating in four pageant-style rounds of competition.

Michael from Los Angeles, CA, had competed as a suitor on The Proposal three weeks ago. He finished as the second runner-up on Latoya Blakely's episode.

Michael admitted he had a non-existent love life prior to appearing on the series. His great grandfather proposed to his great grandmother three times, and on the third time, she said "yes," so that's why Michael decided to give The Proposal a second chance and attempt to find his match for life.

After America was introduced to Michael, the women were brought out onstage one by one.

Jamie Snow, a 25-year-old snowboarder from Denver, CO, was welcomed onstage first, and then she was followed by Michelle Jackson, a 33-year-old auto product specialist from Troy, MI; Toya Atkins, a 33-year-old account manager from Atlanta, GA; Jasmyn Alston; and Heather Meyer, a 36-year-old competitive beauty queen from Berthoud, CO.

Next up was Casandra Martinez, a 23-year-old sales representative from Houston, TX; Ashley Hart, a 27-year-old teacher from Oak Park, MI; Inessa Chimato, a 32-year-old bartender who can speak four languages from Ukraine; Sierra Woods, a 30-year-old paralegal and NBA cheerleader from Atlanta, GA; and finally Ashley Joyce.

Michael sized up the competition and quickly determined he'd like to see more of the following women: Ashley J., Ashley H., Inessa, Sierra, Casandra, Toya and Jasmyn.

It then became time for the best of beachwear or swimwear round, and most of the ladies felt confident and comfortable enough to wear bikinis.

Several highlights of this round included Toya reading a sweet poem to Michael, Jasmyn revealing she recently had a dramatic weight-loss without surgery given she had weighed over 300 pounds, Sierra doing a little cheer for him, and Ashley J. rapping to the mystery suitor.

Once this round concluded, Michael advanced the women he connected with and would like to get to know better: Jasmyn, Ashley J., Casandra and Toya.

In the next stage of competition, Michael was allowed to ask each woman a serious question about topics that matter to him, such as religion, politics, past relationships, or even sex -- and each woman was given 30 seconds to answer.

Casandra admitted she believes it's okay to have a one-night stand after a fun night out at the bar, and Jasmyn revealed she'd like to have at least two children based on her relationship with her beloved older brother.

Ashley J. said she hurt a man in one of her previous relationships by speaking to someone she wasn't supposed to, and Toya described her dream wedding as an intimate celebration with only 20 close family members and friends.

Following the interview round, Michael wanted to keep seeing Ashley J., Casandra and Jasmyn.

The three ladies then got to meet Michael's cousin, Brandon, who was afforded the opportunity to ask each woman a question since she could potentially become a part of his family someday.

Ashley was asked whether she believes in fate or destiny, and she said absolutely, that everything happens the way it is supposed to happen.

Casandra insisted she could talk to a brick wall and gets along with everyone so she could settle right into Michael's big, loud, intimidating family.

And Brandon asked Jasmyn how she'd lift Michael's spirits when he's down. Given Brandon loves to laugh, Jasmyn said she could bring the jokes and impressions -- before nailing an impression of Jay-Z for the screaming audience.

Towards the end of the show, Michael could sincerely see himself proposing to Jasmyn or Ashley.

As a result, the two women got to meet Michael face-to-face. The girls had big smiles on their faces when he walked out, so they seemed very pleased with his appearance.

Jasmyn and Ashley were then instructed make a proposal and explain to Michael how far they'd be willing to go for love and for him.

Ashley told Michael that she wants to find a genuine man. She has a tough time opening up but did so for him. Ashley called herself "a good woman" and says she wants to love a guy the same way he'd love her.

Jasmyn playfully said she didn't have a cheer or a rap but, instead, she had all the faith in the world in this process because his second appearance on the show proves this works through a "divine order." Jasmyn wished him the best and love no matter what he decided.

The crowd was chanting Jasmyn's name, but Michael selected Ashley as his winner.

Michael ultimately got down on one knee and presented Ashley with an engagement ring.

"Will you marry me, Ashley?" Michael asked.

Ashley replied, "Yes I will," and then Michael placed the Neil Lane diamond engagement ring on her finger. The couple sealed the deal with a kiss and a hug.
