The success of ABC's "Lost" has spurred the return of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's "The Lost World" to U.S. TV, it was reported Friday.

New Line Television is distributing 52 episodes of the hour-long action/drama in a barter syndication deal to independent networks, MediaWeek.com reported.
The show, which will start airing in the fall, follows an expedition team that crashes into a dangerous world of killer dinosaurs, giant crocodiles, other strange wildlife and bizarre plant life, MediaWeek said. "The Lost World" initially premiered in April 1999 and ended in May 2002.
"All you have to do is look at the success of 'Lost' to know that the time is right for 'The Lost World' to make its return to television," New Line's David Spiegelman said.
