'The Bold and the Beautiful' star Darlene Conley dies from cancer

Darlene Conley, who entertained daytime drama audiences since the late 1970s, has died at 72 in her Los Angles home of stomach cancer.

The veteran stage and TV actress portrayed fashion mogul Sally Spectra on "The Bold and the Beautiful." She earned two Daytime Emmy nominations for best supporting actress and six Soap Opera Digest award nominations.
Conley began her acting career at 15 when she was cast in a touring production of "The Heiress," the Los Angeles Times reported.
She later landed roles in the movies "The Birds" and "Valley of the Dolls" and on such television shows as "Murder, She Wrote,""Cagney & Lacey" and "The Mary Tyler Moore Show."
Conley, who died Sunday, is survived by a son and two sisters.
