The Bachelorette star Michelle Young has revealed that Joe Coleman understood her in a way none of her other Season 18 bachelors did.

Michelle invited Joe to accompany her on a one-on-one date in their home state of Minnesota, and together, they took a trip down memory lane.

"We both understood so many things about each other without having to necessarily talk about those things because of how we were raised, because of the basketball community, because we had similar passions," Michelle, 28, told People.

"And so that's somebody who I felt just understood a piece of me that none of the other guys did."

Not only did Michelle walk Joe through her high school and play a little ball with him on her former basketball court, but Joe also opened up about his past playing sports and how serious injuries derailed his dreams of going pro and left him in a very depressed state for a period of time.

Joe has seemingly been a frontrunner on Michelle's season since Night 1 of filming, when Michelle immediately recognized the suitor and later admitted she had "slid into his DMs" pre-show. After a few exchanges her or there, Joe apparently ghosted Michelle.

Once they reconnected on The Bachelorette, Joe explained that he wasn't ready for a relationship when Michelle first messaged him but he joined her cast of bachelors for the right reasons and to give their romance a real shot.

Ever since then, Michelle's other bachelors have noticed Michelle and Joe's chemistry, and they've found it difficult to compete with the pair's similarities and compatibility.

Michelle's other one-on-one date in Minnesota was with Nayte Olukoya, whom she confessed she's starting to fall in love with.

But Michelle also apparently had "a strong connection" with Martin Gelbspan.

Michelle surprisingly gave Martin a rose after he seemed to rub her the wrong way by saying most women in Miami are "high maintenance" and allegedly looking for men to take care of them.

"I always wanted to make sure that I had enough time to ask the questions that I wanted to ask and have the conversations that I wanted to have," Michelle said of why she had chosen to keep Martin around longer after that awkward conversation.

"And it's really hard also because you don't know each other on an extremely deep level. There's just not enough time. You have a deep connection, but sometimes you just need more time."

"And with that," she elaborated, "I wanted to think through that conversation and then approach it at a later time."

Michelle, however, revealed it's important to her that her winning bachelor doesn't get "caught up in drama" and is an "honest" man who shows his true colors at all times.

"Hopefully, the drama's gone and now you're really trying to truly get to know these guys and who they are," Michelle told People.

The fifth-grade teacher flat out admitted, "I don't like drama. I stay away from it."

"It seems kind of funny I'd be on a reality TV show if I don't like drama," she noted with a laugh, "but what I will tell you is that when you throw yourself into that position with the guys, you're going to have drama -- and I can see how they handle themselves."

Michelle therefore said she learned about the men very quickly and was able to be decisive.

"I was able to make quick decisions because of the environment that we were in and see how they handled themselves during uncomfortable situations and see which ones were able to squash issues, which ones were able to have conversations in a productive manner," Michelle explained.

Michelle said while watching her season back, nothing has been "super shocking" but she wishes she had caught onto certain things earlier.

The Bachelorette's next episode is set to air on Tuesday night and Michelle still has eight men in the running for her heart.
