Brother of 'Bachelorette' winner Ryan Sutter seeks own identity May 19, 2003
Having a famous sibling can be hard, even if the 'fame' comes from a reality TV show. According to the Rocky Mountain News, that's the message from Chris Sutter, the lookalike younger brother of Ryan Sutter, who won Trista Rehn's hand in marriage on ABC's The Bachelorette. Chris, a waiter at a restaurant in Beaver Creek, Colorado, joked that he wanted to change his name to "That Guy Who Won The Bachelorette's Brother."

In an article last week, we noted that Trista Rehn, the star of ABC's The Bachelorette, and her chosen beau Ryan Sutter were appearing separately during the weekend and wondered if there was any deeper significance to their separate appearances. In response, a RealityTVWorld.com tipster has reported that Trista and Ryan are indeed still together in Aspen, CO, and still planning their wedding.

He may not have won Trista Rehn's heart, but he did win the better TV gig. The NY Post reports that Charlie Maher, the 28-year-old former financial adviser who was chosen by Trista as runner-up to firefighter Ryan Sutter on The Bacheloretter, has been hired by Extra as a special correspondent to cover Hollywood people and events. His qualification appears to be his friendships with such celebrity partiers as Jennie Garth, Tea Leoni (David Duchovny's wife) and Kelly Preston (John Travolta's wife).

Almost two months ago, in the finale of ABC's The Bachelorette, all of America watched Trista Rehn and Ryan Sutter proclaim their love for each other and their plan to become the first couple from a reality TV show to actually tie the knot. Shortly thereafter, we reported that the lovebirds had registered at a Century City Bloomingdale's, not too far from Trista's LA home. Looks like one of the made-for-reality-TV unions might actually be heading toward the altar. Knight-Ridder Newspapers reports that the final couple from The Bachelorette, Trista Rehn and Ryan Sutter, registered for wedding gifts at the Century City Bloomingdale's in Los Angeles. on Wednesday, February 26. Not surprisingly, TV cameras accompanied them on the errand, which is tied to their tentative June 7 wedding date.

Over 30 million viewers tune in to 'The Bachelorette' series finale February 20, 2003
ABC reports that with Trista Rehn choosing Colorado fireman Ryan Sutter, the season finale for the "The Bachelorette" dominated its time period. Opposite stiff competition from Fox's "That 70's Show," followed by 90-minutes of "American Idol," "The Bachelorette" led its 2-hour time period by 3.7 million viewers (20.4 million vs. 16.7 million) and by 18% among Adults 18-49 (9.2/20 vs. 7.8/19). "The Bachelorette" stood as the most-watched program of the night and the top draw among Adults 18-49. ABC estimates that 30 million viewers tuned in to watch at least some portion of the season finale for "The Bachelorette."

The Globe and Mail reports that Ryan Sutter, one of the final two men competing for Trista Rehn's affection on The Bachelorette, may be headed to the Great White North to resume his football career.

Ousted 'Bachelorette' bachelor Greg Todtman arrested for cocaine possession February 2, 2003
The New York Post reports that on Greg Todtman, the bachelor who was booted this past week by "Bachelorette" Trista Rehn, was arrested Friday for cocaine possession at JFK airport. Port Authority Police report that Todtman, 28, was busted with a "very small amount" of coke on him as he passed through a screener on his way to a 4 p.m. Los Angeles-bound American Airlines flight.

ABC reports that the second episode of their The Bachelorette" series once again dominated its ratings hour, besting an original episode of NBC's "West Wing" by 21% in Total Viewers (17.4 million vs. 14.4 million) and by 73% among Adults 18-49 (8.5/20 vs. 4.9/12). "The Bachelorette" topped the combined deliveries of NBC, CBS and Fox in the hour by 10% among Adults 18-34 (9.5/25 vs. 8.6/24).
