The Bachelor's seventeenth-season finale may come as a "shock" to fans, but host Chris Harrison says he called the outcome ahead of time.

"Going into the finale, I knew [who Sean Lowe would pick]," Harrison told E! News, adding that going into the hometown dates he had "no idea."

Harrison reportedly promised there will be a few surprises in the finale, which airs Monday at 8PM ET/PT on ABC, as Lowe attempts to choose between his Final 2 bachelorettes Catherine Giudici and Lindsay Yenter.

Lowe is "definitely still happy" with his decision and has no regrets, said Harrison in light of reports The Bachelor star is engaged and planning a summer wedding.

"Oh yeah, he was happy with Lindsay and Catherine [as the final two]. I think he aspires and hopes and looks to have something like [AshLee Frazier] represents, I think that's what his parents have. But I also think that in the end he realized he's just not there yet, and she's a little more mature and a little further along than he is. Catherine and Lindsay are a little younger at heart and more fancy-free, where he can think, 'OK, that's a little more me right now.'"

Harrison also told E! News that Lowe's personality and traditional values made him a very genuine, sincere and ultimately popular Bachelor.

"Sean is a really religious guy and a man of high moral fiber, which he got from his family," the host explained of the alleged born-again virgin."So that's the way the season went. If he would have been a playboy, it would have been a different season. This way it played, but I don't think that everyone can be like that, it's just not in him, and that made things interesting and very real."
