Chris Soules' decision-making process throughout his The Bachelor journey apparently never came easy to him.

"I always second-guessed myself -- up until I made my decision," Soules told Life & Style of his choices to eliminate women along the way.

"None of the decisions were easy. It was grueling trying to figure out what the decision was going to be."

Soules often questioned his bachelorettes' motives and intentions, which made his first impressions less reliable over time.

"It was a struggle at first, but I had to trust my gut and get past any doubt I had," said the 33-year-old farmer and business from Arlington, IA. "A lot of times, I didn't know until that day, or until moments before I handed out the rose!"

However, Soules' final rose apparently went to the right lady.

"I have absolutely no regrets," the Bachelor told the magazine. "I'm glad I handled things the way I did."

The Bachelor's next nineteenth-season episode airs Monday night at 8PM ET/PT on ABC.
