'The Bachelor' star Arie Luyendyk Jr.: My finale is "going to be entertaining," I have no regrets and I'm very happy

By Elizabeth Kwiatkowski, 02/12/2018

The Bachelor star Arie Luyendyk Jr. is promising the end of his season is going to be good -- really good.

"The finale is going to be entertaining for everyone to watch just because I do have to make that decision," Arie told E! News.

"Looking back, I don't have any regrets. I'm very happy now and it was an awesome experience."

Arie made it known before The Bachelor's 22nd season premiered January 1 that he fell in love with two women, and viewers are going to see his "struggle" unfold over the next few weeks.

"I went into this experience with a very open mind and an open heart, and I did fall in love with two people. So, it's going to be hard to watch that back, just because, yeah, it's difficult," Arie admitted.

With hometown dates right around the corner and only seven women remaining, Arie will be narrowing down his search for love in no time.

But the 36-year-old pro racing driver's decision at the Final Rose Ceremony is probably going to be excruciating to watch.

"I think I am the type of person that I don't fall in love very easily, so for me to fall in love with two people, it was hard for me," explained Arie, who fell hard for Emily Maynard on The Bachelorette five years ago.

Arie said handing out his final rose was "so difficult" and "tough" because by the end, those two relationships were "completely different" from one another, and the women were also "completely different."

So what criteria did Arie use when deciding whom to pick and whether to propose marriage?

"So you have to discern how that relationship is going to be outside of the show. And that's the biggest thing," Arie said.

"It's really easy to fall in love in this environment because it lends to it. But for the Bachelor, for myself, you really have to think about how is life going to be outside of the show? And that's something that really guides your decision-making."

When asked to compare his experience on The Bachelor to stars before him on previous editions, Arie couldn't really find the words.

"I had watched previous seasons, but every journey is different. I think every person handles it in their own way. And for me, I was just trying to find my own way through this," Arie said.

Arie reiterated to E! News that while he can't share anything about his Final 2 relationships, he can say that he's "very happy."

"That is the one thing I take away from this, is that it's all worth it," he said.
