The Bachelor host Jesse Palmer has revealed that Zach Shallcross was really "intentional" and made a point of doing something with his bachelorettes when filming Season 27.

Jesse shared how Zach truly wanted to find his "person" on The Bachelor during the January 4 episode of the "Bachelor Happy Hour" podcast co-hosted by Becca Kufrin and Michelle Young.

"[Zach] is really, really intentional," Jesse explained on the podcast.

Jesse said he hasn't seen any of The Bachelor's 27th season yet, which premieres Monday, January 3 at 8PM ET/PT on ABC.

But from what Jesse witnessed firsthand of Zach on the set, the host shared, "I think one of the things I was so impressed [by] watching Zach is that he really made a point to talk to everybody."

"And I know when I was the Bachelor, on a group date or Rose Ceremony, I was like, 'No problem, I'll talk to everybody,'" Jesse recalled of starring on The Bachelor's fifth season in 2004.

"But then things happen and there's drama, and there's, 'Can I steal you for a second?' And then you realize, 'Oh my god, I've literally spoken to only half the people. No wonder everybody is upset.'"

Jesse suggested that Zach went above and beyond in making sure he made the most of his bachelorettes' time on the show.

"Zach made a point of getting time with every single woman virtually every day," Jesse revealed.

"There may be one or two [he couldn't get to], but he was really intent on that. I think part of that was probably his experience on [Rachel Recchia]'s season. He had a lot of time taken away because of a lot of stuff that happened."

Rachel, for example, canceled a group date in Bruges, Belgium because she felt confused and upset over the fact Logan Palmer had decided to switch teams and attempt to date Gabby Windey instead on The Bachelorette's nineteenth season, which aired last year.

"But I think a lot of that is really Zach and sort of what he wants to do," Jesse clarified, commending Zach's character.

Not only was Zach "intentional," but Jesse said he was also "very emotional" and "expressive" throughout the season.

"It's because he has such a big heart and he genuinely cares about people's feelings and how his actions affect people," Jesse noted of the 26-year-old tech executive from Anaheim Hills, CA.

Jesse recalled of Zach's approach to the show: "One of the things I think Zach understood going into this season is that he had to be intentional with his actions. Because a lot of these women on Night 1, they're so nervous... You're not sure how to behave and be yourself."

Jesse praised Zach for treating the women kindly, calmly and with understanding.

"I think Zach's actions helped allow everyone to feel comfortable and safe to say things and behave a certain way -- to cry if they wanted to cry, and not be judged by it," Jesse explained.

Jesse added, "I think he did a great job of building a safe space for everybody in the room and in the mansion to sort of feel like they can be their most authentic self."

Jesse therefore hopes The Bachelor viewers won't criticize or judge Zach for his emotions, especially since the Bachelor "cries a lot" on Season 27.

"I hope people, when they see him, don't think he's less of a man because of [his tears]... It's just authentically who he is... He's not trying to be James Bond Bachelor, he's just being Zach," Jesse said.

And Zach is apparently looking for a woman who is like him. He recently told BachelorNation.com that he wants to find a "really compassionate" woman who's "kind to everyone."

"I think a lot of people can be really self-involved. So how you treat people on a day-to-day basis is really important to me," Zach said. "I just want someone who is a really kind, compassionate person."

He also said that going into filming, he was "most nervous" about meeting a woman who was on the show for the wrong reasons.

"I'm most nervous about the fact that there could be people that are on this journey and a part of this experience that don't take it seriously and don't want to actually find love," Zach shared. "I want to find someone who truly wants a future with me, so that's what scares me the most."

ABC just released the official cast of 30 bachelorettes who will be competing for Zach's heart last week.

Jesse teased on Becca and Michelle's podcast how Zach really "shines" on The Bachelor and has "a beautiful story" to tell.

However, Jesse is worried Zach isn't prepared for what's coming up.

Based on a trailer of the new season that was released by ABC during Bachelor in Paradise's Season 8 reunion on November 22, The Bachelor's 27th edition promises to be dramatic.

Former The Bachelor bachelorette Tahzjuan Hawkins apparently returns for another shot at love, prompting one bachelorette to complain in the preview, "We don't need another girl here."

And Zach admits he feels like "a failure," before crying about one woman, "I saw something with her."

Jesse told Us Weekly of Zach's season last year, "The women are really into Zach."

"Zach's so emotionally mature and he's a guy that's not afraid to wear his emotion on his sleeve," the host elaborated. "This is easily the most emotional show that I've hosted in the franchise."

Zach's season began filming in late September, which is when ABC also released 32 potential cast members.

Zach emotionally self-eliminated on The Bachelorette 19 following his overnight Fantasy Suite date with Rachel.

While Zach pictured the flight instructor as "the future Mrs. Shallcross" and gushed to the cameras about how he was madly in love with her, Zach found her to be "inauthentic" in the Fantasy Suite and totally unlike herself.

Once Zach confronted Rachel about his concerns, he decided to leave the show at the Final 3 Rose Ceremony. He could tell that he wasn't going to be Rachel's "person" and essentially beat her to the punch.

Zach ultimately apologized to Rachel on The Bachelorette: After the Final Rose for questioning her character, but Rachel insisted no apology was necessary and he had every right to feel that way.

Zach was officially announced as The Bachelor star for Season 27 in late September on After the Final Rose. On that special, he was introduced to five of his bachelorettes, including Brianna Thorbourne, who received "America's First Impression Rose" in front of a live audience.
