'The Bachelor' draws best ratings yet, wins time slot

ABC's The Bachelor won its 9PM timeslot for Wednesday, October 29th according to Nielsen's Fast National ratings. The sixth episode of The Bachelor was the top draw in its time slot, drawing 14.1 million total viewers, a 9.0/14 rating/share, and a 6.4/16 in the important Adults 18-49 demographic..

The Bachelor's performance topped NBC's The West Wing by nearly a million total viewers (14.1 million versus 13.2) and by 45% in Adults 18-49 (6.4/16 versus 4.4/11). Fox's fall premiere of The O.C. finished fourth in the hour among total viewers (9.2 million) and third in Adults 18-49 (4.2/10).

The Bachelor was the No. 1 series on Wednesday night in Adults 18-49 (6.4/16) and Adults 18-34 (6.0/16) for the second consecutive week. The episode attracted the biggest audience yet for the fourth edition of the The Bachelor, generating ABC's largest audience in the time period in 8 months (since February 19, 2003).
