Soules, a 35-year-old Arlington native who starred on The Bachelor's 19th season, is being held in the Buchanan County Jail in Independence, IA, according to NBC's KWWL-TV affiliate.

The Buchanan County Sheriff's Office reportedly took Soules into custody after he was allegedly driving a Chevy pickup truck that rear-ended a John Deere tractor on Buchanan County Road W45 near Aurora, IA shortly after 8PM on Monday night.

Both the truck and the tractor reportedly went into a ditch, and the person driving the tractor died. That person's identity has yet to be released.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, Soules took off from the scene and left his truck behind.

The accident is currently under investigation, including the whereabouts of Soules prior to the crash and the circumstances in which he was driving.

Soules is currently appearing in court for his arraignment and police say he was in possession of alcoholic beverage containers at the time of the accident, TMZ reported.

Witnesses near the scene of the crash reportedly identified Soules and called authorities, which led to the farmer's arrest.

In addition to starring on The Bachelor in 2015, Soules also previously competed for Andi Dorfman on The Bachelorette's tenth season as well as Season 20 of Dancing with the Stars and the Food Network's Worst Cooks in America: Celebrity Edition.
