A Pennsylvania school district said a high school English teacher was suspended after she referred to students on her blog as "dim" and "rat-like."

The Central Bucks School District, headquartered in Doylestown, said teacher Natalie Munroe, who has been with the district since 2006, has been suspended pending an investigation after parents complained about more than a year's worth of blog entries with disparaging comments about students, CBSPhilly.com reported Thursday.

Munroe, who admitted to authoring the blog entries, wrote about students she referred to as "frightfully dim,""rat-like" and likely to "open fire on the school," the report said. She also once wrote "I hate your kid" and said one student "seems smarter than she actually is."

Parents and students said they were shocked to read the comments, which were recently discovered by a parent and re-posted to Facebook.

"I think she should be fired. Hopefully that is what will happen," parent Wendy Yazujian said.

"I thought she was smarter than that, to put that on the Internet for everyone to see that and let her kids read that," said student Shannon Carroll.

Munroe directed questions to her lawyer, who did not immediately respond to calls for comment, CBSPhilly.com said.
