Authorities in Connecticut said a suspected thief was arrested after asking for surveillance photos of the alleged crime to be taken off Facebook.
Police said Dominique Abelard, 20, of Norwalk was arrested Wednesday after police traced a call she made to the poster of the surveillance images, which appear to depict Abelard and another woman stealing about six pocketbooks from a conference room at the Hilton Hotel in Stamford during the month in October, the Hartford (Conn.) Courant reported Thursday.
Investigators said Abelard asked the poster of the images to take them down.
Police said the victims, who were attending a religious service at the time of the thefts, reported their stolen credit cards had been used in Norwalk.
Abelard was charged with two counts of illegal use of a credit card and two counts of sixth-degree larceny.
