Sundance Head admits he fully didn't expect to join Blake Shelton's team on The Voice's Season 11 premiere.

"To be honest, I was going to choose Adam if he would have turned around for me," Sundance told reporters during a Tuesday conference call about his plans heading into his The Voice audition.
"But when the bullets were flying, I'm just not sure how I chose Blake. I intended to choose Adam."
The son of singer Roy Head, who's behind the 1965 hit called "Treat her Right," Sundance previously competed on Season 6 of American Idol in 2007 and signed a recording contract that same year with Universal Motown Records. However, Sundance recently experienced a lull in his music career.
Sundance -- whose given name is actually Jason -- is therefore looking to take things to the next level through The Voice with Blake serving as his coach.
"I started thinking about all the success that Blake's had in the business, and he's pretty much done everything at this point that I would like to do," Sundance explained of his decision to go with Blake.
"He's such a beautiful human being, a wonderful person, and he's just happy all the time. He's got this positive energy, and I wanted to try to capture some of that if it was possible."
After Sundance performed "I've Been Loving You Too Long," Levine fought hard for the contestant, so it made Sundance's last-minute change of heart even more surprising.
Because Sundance rocked a cowboy hat and boots, Shelton probably thought he had it in the bag. But Levine argued he'd help Sundance embrace the "soul" part of his music and what makes him "so different."
What might have sealed the deal for Sundance, however, was the fact two of his three children came onto the stage and told the artist he should join "Team Blake."
