British actor Steve Coogan will team up with Ben Stiller to star in the action-adventure movie, "The Persuaders," a remake of a one-season television series.

The series, which aired on ITV in Britain and ABC in the United States, starring Roger Moore and Tony Curtis as crime-solving playboys, was not a huge ratings success in 1971.

However, The Guardian said Granada America, ITV's U.S. production division, will co-produce the film with DreamWorks, and Coogan will play the wealthy Brett Sinclair with Stiller as Danny Wilde, the street-smart Bronx millionaire.

Coogan's last big Hollywood movie was "Around the World in 80 Days," and was an expensive flop.
