"The Devil Wears Prada" co-star Stanley Tucci says he will act in a new TV medical series this fall, instead of directing a film he wrote.

"I was going to make (a film) this fall, but I'm going to do this television series. The pilot was actually picked up," Tucci told reporters in New York this week. "It's called '3 Lbs.' and it's about neuro-surgery. ... It's procedural, but I think the goal is for it to be mostly character-driven."
Tucci said he expects to start working on the show in August.
"We'll shoot seven episodes and if CBS likes it, then we'll shoot more," he explained. "If they don't, then it will disappear."
Asked how the show will distinguish itself from other medical dramas like "ER" and "House," Tucci said, "It's about the brain.
"As I was reading last night -- since I know nothing about the brain -- they say that the brain is the most complex organism on the face of the earth or in the universe, even, as far as they can tell."
Tucci also hopes to direct a film, starring his "Prada" co-star, Emily Blunt, in England next year.
