The spokesman said the system went to its Saturday setting, causing the sprinklers to come on during the third quarter of Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks at Sun Life Stadium, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reported Monday.
"Hey, these things happen," Dolphins owner Steve Ross said.
The Dolphins, who were down 14-7 at the time of the incident, came back to win 24-21.
