SpongeBob SquarePants, the fictitious, animated sea sponge/fry cook who lives in the sea, has topped Parade magazine's survey of U.S. wage earners.

SpongeBob raked in an impressive $1.5 billion last year, making him the top earner in Parade magazine's 22nd annual What People Earn salary survey.
Other top earners include: Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning who made $42 million, biker Lance Armstrong brought home $19 million and swimmer Michael Phelps made $ 1 million.
Hollywood's had many top earners including Angelina Jolie who made $25 million last year, Renee Zellweger made $21 million, Catherine Zeta-Jones $18 million; Lindsey Lohan made $10 million and Jessica Simpson who earned $4 million.
John Travolta made $25 million during 2004.
