Spencer Pratt claims his love of fame is stronger than his love for estranged wife Heidi Montag.

"We love each other but I'm a famewhore and I'll never grow out of it. [Heidi] knows that and doesn't want that," the former The Hills star toldPeople in an interview published Sunday.
"I want every kind of press... there's no way my love for fame and her love for puppies will ever work out successfully. She just wants to hike and hang out and be calmer."
But the fact that Montag did not file divorce papers and the couple therefore remains married has caused their family and formerThe Hills castmates to speculate that the split is just their latest publicity stunt -- which Pratt told People is not the case.
"[Heidi] doesn't want to be Speidi anymore. She wants to be Heidi Montag: the sex symbol," he said.
Pratt's fame obsession has been a source of friction since the couple wed, according to the former The Hills star.
"It's been a constant battle since we got married. She would be like, 'Are you really Tweeting that? Are you really doing that?'" he told People.
"She thought I'd burn out of this, but no, I'm still the same Spencer who went on The Hills to be famous. I still need to do stunts and take cues from Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise."
With The Hills now over, Pratt claims he's now focused on becoming an artist.
"I'm an artist now. I have an easel and everything. I'm going for an art show and a gallery," he said.
"I'm switching it up," he added about his decision to grow a beard. "I've already gone for the blonde, spiky-haired look. Now I'm going for the Hollywood producer look."
