'Sopranos' cast and crew remaining mum about show's final season

UPI News Service, 01/15/2006

"The Sopranos" cast and creator David Chase were interrogated by TV writers in Pasadena, Calif., but gave up little about the show's upcoming final season.

HBO is bringing back "The Sopranos" on March 12 for 12 episodes, to be followed by the final eight in January 2007.

Journalists pleaded with Chase and the series' stars Friday night "please, please talk about this," New York's Newsday reported Sunday.

But Lorraine Bracco told the assembled reporters: "We've been asked not to reveal things, so it's really hard."

Chase offered a cryptic, "Johnny Sack has been arrested and people see a potential future for themselves in that."

Guest stars on the upcoming season include Julianna Margulies, Hal Holbrook, Bracco's sister Elizabeth and Oscar winner Ben Kingsley.
