A cast member of the popular cable TV series, "The Sopranos" is giving fans a shred of hope that the sixth season won't be the last.

Creator David Chase and HBO have said, as late as this week, the sixth season will be the end, the New York Daily News said Wednesday.

But Michael Imperioli, who plays Christopher Moltisanti, Tony Soprano's nephew, said Tuesday, "I'm not sure it's the last season."

"(Chase) said that about the fifth season, as well," Imperioli said of Chase's stated intention to end the series at six seasons.

Production is set to begin on the sixth season at the end of this month.
