"I couldn't be more proud of the amazing work that [co-creator and executive producer Nigel Lythgoe] and the entire So You Think You Can Dance team has done over the past nine seasons," said Fox reality programming chief Mike Darnell in a statement.
"This show is truly one of the most compelling series on television and I can't wait to bring it back for Season 10."
Lythgoe had first revealed the series' renewal news in a tweet on Wednesday.
"Great news for Christmas: FOX officially picked up Season 10 of #SYTYCD # DanceOnFox. First audition City Austin TX," he wrote.
So You Think You Can Dance's ninth season ended in September and concluded with female dancer Eliana Girard and male dancer Chehon Wespi-Tschopp being crowned its two champions. The dancers each won a cash prize of $125,000 and a cover appearance on Dance Spirit magazine.
The reality competition series is produced by 19 Entertainment and dick clark productions and executive produced by co-creators Lythgoe and Simon Fuller, as well as Allen Shapiro.
