Fox has announced it has renewed So You Think You Can Dance for a ninth season next summer.

"For the past eight seasons, So You Think You Can Dance has been a huge part of our success. We are excited to bring the series and an incredible set of new dancers back for another fantastic season," Fox reality chief Mike Darnell said in a statement.

So You Think You Can Dance's eighth season ended in August and concluded with Melanie Moore being crowned its champion. The dancer won a cash prize of $250,000 and the cover of November's Dance Spirit magazine. Moore will also be recognized as a Gatorade athlete on gatorade.com and in the beverage's new G Series FIT print campaign.

In addition to So You Think You Can Dance's renewal, Fox has also announced it has picked up MasterChef for a third season.

So You Think You Can Dance is produced by 19 Entertainment and dick clark productions and executive produced by co-creators Simon Fuller and Nigel Lythgoe, as well as Barry Adelman.
